Introduction

In this video, you will learn about ‘Space for sharing’ as it refers to both formal and informal platforms that are used by staff to share, discuss and learn about work-related matters.  Learning about work may also happen during handover sessions, lunches or break-times.  Interaction in the space is work-related and allows active participation by all staff. 

7 Steps to Create a Space for Sharing

1. Identify an existing space for sharing
2. Identify the owner(s) of the space
3. Set a purpose to create a meaningful space for sharing
4. Identify the roles and responsibilities of the owner(s) of the space
5. Provide resources to create and maintain a meaningful space
6. Use the space for sharing
7. Engage staff to participate in the space for sharing
